Meet the all-star cast diving into Shark!

The show starts with cage dives.

A new high-stakes series is set to test the courage of six Australian celebrities as they come face-to-face with some of the ocean’s most feared predators.

Shark! will see a line-up of well-known names enter shark-infested waters in the Bahamas, confronting both their fear of sharks and deeply personal anxieties in what producers describe as a raw and life-changing experience.

Meet the cast

Ariarne Titmus, four-time Olympic gold medallist swimmer

Lynne McGranger, actor and 2025 TV Week Gold Logie winner

Tammy Hembrow, social media entrepreneur

Scott Cam, television host

Sam Thaiday, NRL legend and commentator

Matt Nable, Hollywood actor and former rugby league player

Filmed in the Bahamas – often dubbed the shark capital of the world – the show will push the celebrities to their limits as they encounter bull sharks, hammerheads and tiger sharks.

Guided by a survivor

Leading the group is Australian shark attack survivor and former Navy clearance diver Paul de Gelder, who lost his right hand and leg in a bull shark attack in Sydney Harbour. He is joined by shark expert and conservationist Annie Guttridge.

De Gelder said Australians share a complex relationship with sharks.

“We’re a coastal nation – we swim, we surf, we fish. We love it. And when tragedy strikes, it hits close to home,” he said.

He added that the series aims to balance intensity with respect for marine life, challenging the perception of sharks as villains while acknowledging the risks they pose.

Escalating challenges in open water

Across the series, participants will face increasingly dangerous challenges, starting with cage dives and culminating in open-water swims alongside some of the ocean’s most aggressive species.

Regardless of how many encounters they complete, each celebrity is expected to leave with a new perspective on sharks and their role in ocean ecosystems.

Shark! is based on the original format Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters, created and produced by Plimsoll, part of ITV Studios, for the 9Network.
