• MediaCom Brisbane lead all media strategy, planning and offline buying

MediaCom has been appointed as the Deaf Connects’ media agency of record following a competitive pitch process.

The partnership, effective immediately, will see MediaCom Brisbane lead all media strategy, planning and offline buying for Deaf Connect and Deaf Lottery.

Deaf Connect is Australia’s largest whole-of-life service provider and social impact organisation for Deaf, deafblind and hard-of-hearing Australians, as well as the largest employer of Auslan users in the world.

They are an NDIS registered service provider, a nationally recognised provider of in-home care for seniors, and a registered training organisation for accredited training in Auslan.

Kellie Dawson, managing director, MediaCom Brisbane, said: “We are incredibly proud and excited to begin our partnership with Deaf Connect. We are so honoured to have been appointed as their media partner. As a team, we are passionate about delivering smarter and forward- thinking media solutions for our clients, especially in their area of services.”

“Deaf Connect is the largest whole-of-life service provider for Deaf, Deafblind, and hard of hearing Australians. Their work is incredibly important to the livelihood of so many Australians we are beyond humbled to have been chosen as their media partner as we are passionate about diversity and inclusiveness.

“We are excited to work with their team and help them tap into our global, national and local expertise to further support their growth,” Dawson added.

Brett Casey, CEO Deaf Connect, said the work of the Deaf Lottery was crucial to the ongoing success of Deaf Connect and the establishment of new programs and services.

“We’re excited to begin our partnership with MediaCom and to work with the team on bringing the lottery, and the work that we can achieve through the our fundraising, to more Australians.

“We stand with the Deaf community of Australia to build capacity and influence social change while paying respect to the history, culture and language. Our agency partners are always critical in helping us to achieve this, and MediaCom will play an integral part in our art union marketing strategy moving forward,” Casey added.

In May, GroupM announced plans for MediaCom to merge with sister agency Essence to form a new performance-led, and data and technology enabled, global agency called EssenceMediacom.
