Variety’s Pat Saperstein reports that James Van Der Beek, who shot to fame as Dawson Leary on Dawson’s Creek, has died aged 48.

He was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2023 and went public with the news in 2024.

Heineken flags job cuts as AI push follows soft beer sales

We’ve all seen the statistics showing that drinking is on the decline amongst younger generations.

Well, now the data is showing up in practice.

The world’s second-largest brewer, Heineken, says it will cut between 5,000 and 6,000 roles, roughly 7% of its workforce, over the next two years as it chases productivity gains driven in part by AI.

According to CNBC’s Sawdah Bhaimiya, the move comes after total beer volumes slipped 2.4% across 2025.
