NOVA Entertainment has added the parenting podcast We Don’t Have Time For This to the Nova Podcast Network, expanding its presence in the parenting category.

Hosted by childhood best friends Gemma Pranita and Kate Reeves, the podcast covers parenting, work, relationships and family life through candid conversations and humour.

Its audience is known as the “DLs”.

From school friends to podcast partners

Pranita and Reeves have been friends since Year 7, when they bonded over harmonising Spice Girls songs in the school canteen line.

Pranita said they created the podcast as an alternative to expert-led parenting shows.

“We started this podcast as the antidote to all of the expert parenting podcasts that were dominating the scene at the time. We craved conversations that were raw, honest, silly and absurd, that gave us permission to say ‘This parenting gig is haaard’ without feeling judged. The fact that so many people have connected with it has been incredibly rewarding, and we're thrilled to be joining Nova Podcasts for this next chapter."

Reeves said the partnership would help the show reach more Australian mothers.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Nova to take our podcast community to a broader audience. Motherhood can be a lonely space, and we want to ensure as many Aussie mums as possible can feel supported, seen and part of something bigger, and we think we can do that with Nova.”

Nova grows parenting slate

The partnership brings the podcast and its established community into Nova’s network, which includes original programming and content from external publishers and production companies.

NOVA Entertainment network director of Nova Podcasts Rachel Corbett said the hosts had developed a strong connection with listeners.

“Gemma and Kate have built something really special with We Don’t Have Time For This. Their friendship and willingness to be completely honest about the juggle of parenting, work, relationships and everything else life throws at you has created an incredibly loyal community who don’t just listen to the show; they feel part of it. That kind of connection is really hard to build, and exactly what we look for in the shows we partner with, so we’re thrilled to welcome them to Nova Podcasts.”

New episodes of We Don’t Have Time For This are released weekly through the Nova Player and other podcast platforms.
