Mash - Tanya Derup and Ollie Salisbury

Natasha Menon: “We are absolutely thrilled to have Tanya and Ollie, two exceptional technology leaders, join our team”

Mash has announced the appointment of Tanya Drerup to the newly created role of chief product officer, as Ollie Salisbury takes on the role of head of talent acquisition and community.

Both roles will work to drive the creative technology’s company transformation and elevate its purpose through technology.

Working towards the goal of evolving Mash into a global virtual studio and project management platform, Drerup and Salisbury will respectively look to prioritise both client and Masher needs as the company consolidates 16 off-the-shelf systems into one platform.

An accomplished technology leader with over 12 years of experience, Drerup has delivered a plethora of business transformation solutions for the finance, technology, government and energy sectors.

Prior to joining Mash, she held senior product positions at FrankieOne, MYOB and carsales.com.au. With a deep understanding of customer-centricity, she fervently believes in the power of aligning business systems with the needs and aspirations of customers and is now tasked with building and leading the technology team at Mash.

Drerup said: “I am very excited to take on the role of CPO at Mash, and spearhead our technology revolution by immersing myself in Mash’s client and user insights and feedback in order to truly understand their pain points and goals. Current advancements in AI and data make it a very exciting time in the creative industry.

“Harnessing the power of these solutions and deep diving into what our customers are prioritising during this unique economic time will ultimately allow us to build a platform that will exceed expectations of our creative output, project management and operational efficiency.”

Salisbury is a seasoned talent & people professional with over a decade of experience in talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organisational culture. Salisbury has strong experience in technology; building diverse and high-performing teams and driving results through innovative global talent programs and initiatives. He has previously worked at Ento, BCG Digital Ventures and Scout.

As the head of talent acquisition & community at Mash, he is responsible for shaping the talent strategy, attracting and retaining top talent, and fostering a positive and inclusive community experience amongst Mash’s decentralised team.

“One of the things that drew me to Mash was its mission to empower the creative world to work for themselves. Through my new position, I hope to do exactly this by attracting premium talent who are looking to hold the reins of their own careers and think beyond set hours, a set location and a narrow lens of responsibility. Mash is about exciting, holistic thinking and technology is a crucial part of this ecosystem.”

Drerup and Sailsbury join Mash’s remote working head office team, based across six cities in two continents.

Mash CEO & co-founder Natasha Menon said: “As we continue to grow in both size and geographic footprint, integrating technology into our operating model, will be key to ensuring we stay true to how we Mash. We are absolutely thrilled to have Tanya and Ollie, two exceptional technology leaders, join our team – it is a real milestone moment for us.

“In this next chapter, we will be looking to further integrate as true extensions of our clients’ teams as well as expand our referral-only community of creatives.”

Operations director and co-founder Sarah Churchlow said: “Mash is a cultural practice within a creative services platform, so the user experience of Mashers on our platform is equal to that of our clients. The combined expertise of Tanya and Ollie in emerging technology and employee empowerment levels up our model and sets us up as the operations blueprint for the future of creative work.”
