Mark Bouris makes key appointment at growing Mentor broadcast business

Operating as The Mentor Platform, Bouris is planning series of YouTube Originals

Mark Bouris is expanding his podcast footprint and team. In July this year, the podcast and business investment guru will open his first purpose-built podcast studio in Victoria Street, Darlinghurst.

Since 2016 Bouris’ popular podcast The Mentor has been one of Australia’s most-listened-to business podcasts. Formerly with LiSTNR, Bouris has struck out as an independent. He has secured long-term deals with various brands including GoDaddy and American Express.

Operating as The Mentor Platform, Bouris is also planning a series of YouTube Originals.

Over five years of his podcast, Bouris has interviewed hundreds of small business owners of every type, sharing stories of struggle, triumph, and survival.

Executive producer appointment

Jess Smalley was this week announced as the executive producer for The Mentor Platform.

Smalley will lead The Mentor’s expanding podcast and production output, including the weekly podcast The Mentor and vodcast Straight Talk.

Smalley brings to the role a wealth of experience and expertise in audio production and digital creation, leading high production teams, including triple j’s national drive and breakfast show. Before that, she produced flagship programs across ABC Local Radio, ABC NewsRadio and spent time at 2GB.

Of her new role, Smalley said: “Mark Bouris is a world-class leader in Australian business and is passionate about sharing the rich knowledge he has acquired along the way. I’m excited to take the lead on one of Australia’s most downloaded business podcasts, The Mentor.”
