Southern Cross Austereo has announced Jess Farchione and Rohan Edwards as the new duo hosts of Hit Network’s statewide breakfast show across regional New South Wales.
The new program, Jess & Rohan, will launch on Tuesday, 27 January, broadcasting from Newcastle and airing weekdays from 6am to 9am across the Hit Network, with streaming available on LiSTNR.
Longtime friends reunite on air
The pairing brings together two broadcasters with a decade-long friendship and extensive radio experience.
Newcastle local Jess Farchione is a familiar voice to regional audiences, known for her conversational style and candid storytelling.
Edwards returns to breakfast radio following a short break from the microphone.
His career includes roles at 2DayFM, B105 Brisbane, and, most recently, as part of Abbie Chatfield’s national radio show. He has also spent time DJing in Newcastle.
What listeners can expect
SCA head of regional content Blair Woodcock said the show’s strength lies in the duo’s existing relationship.
“Jess & Rohan is exactly the kind of show listeners will love waking up with. Their years of friendship will create a natural, warm, and exciting energy on air. We can’t wait for listeners across NSW to make them part of their mornings.”
Edwards described the appointment as a personal milestone.
“Finally getting to work with one of my best friends in the business and waking up Hit Network listeners across NSW is an absolute career highlight for me. I’m pumped to get stuck in and get this show started!”
Farchione said the focus is on connection and enjoyment.
“Breakfast radio is such a special part of people’s day, and I am so excited to share it with Rohan. We’ve known each other for a decade, but there’s still so much to discover, and I can’t wait for our listeners to get to know him at the same time. Our goal is simple; to bring a little joy, a lot of laughter and a tonne of chaos to the mornings!”
