Iconic Aussie clothing brand closes - by choice
"It’s the hardest decision I have ever had to make."

Iconic Aussie clothing brand Shona Joy is closing after 26 years.
Founder Shona Thatcher has spoken to Australian Financial Review about her very relatable reasons.
“My family and I moved to Byron Bay five years ago,” she said.
“There was always going to be a day when I thought, ‘That’s enough now.’ I’ve done extremely well and I’m proud of what we’ve built over the past 26 years.
“The business has grown so much and I can’t manage being a mum as well. I want to step back. I’m successful and I want to end [the business] on a successful note. I’m proud that I can do that.
“This business is my baby and my passion. But my children are my priority.”
The AFR reports that brand’s online store will remain open to sell stock until the new year, and confirmed that employees will receive all entitlements.
