The 63rd TV Week Logie Awards are set for Sunday, July 30

Monday night’s Have You Been Paying Attention? saw Sam Pang address industry chatter that he’ll be the host of this year’s Logies.

First reported by TV Tonight, if the rumour comes true it would make Pang the first solo Logies host in 12 years, as opposed to multiple people sharing the presenting job.

After a question on Have You Been Paying Attention? about what, exactly, Pang was rumoured to be hosting, show host Tom Gleisner asked directly whether or not there was any truth to the reports, Pang joked “I can confirm the rumours are true.”

Fellow panellist Ed Kavalee dug further, asking “Are you or are you not in discussions to host this year’s TV Week Logie Awards? Yes or no?”

Dodging the question, Pang joked “If it happens, you, Tom, will be on table 257.”

As well as Have You Been Paying Attention?, Pang is a panellist on Seven’s The Front Bar, and was a member of Nova’s Melbourne breakfast team Chrissie, Sam, and Browny until the trio signed off in December after seven years on air.

The 63rd TV Week Logie Awards are set for Sunday, July 30. The awards return to Sydney this year after the past three Awards were held at The Star on the Gold Coast. While no venue has been confirmed, the industry speculation is that they will be held at The Star.

In another change this year, the ceremony will be broadcast on Seven, after having been broadcast on Nine for the last 27 years. The Seven Network announced it had signed a multi-year agreement with Are Media to become the Official Broadcast Partner of the TV Week Logies the day before Nine’s upfront last year.

In 2022, The Logies had 885,000 viewers tune in for the ceremony, while 826,000 watched the red carpet arrivals. That number was up on the previous time the Logies were held in 2019, where 799,000 watched the arrivals and 866,000 watched the ceremony.
