A charming bistro that feels very neighbourhood and special. Named after the owner’s gran it really is a very homely place with excellent food.

The dish you must try: Jane’s pink cake is a delight, deconstructed layer of vanilla sponge, strawberries, meringue, and ruby chocolate.

Another elegant neighbourhood place in a well-known terrace location in Paddington. Great quality food overall including a great pork chop with a Paris mash that was excellent.

The dish you must try: Moreton Bay bug pasta with parmesan, crustacean butter.

Back where it all began with a great selection of pizzas and delicious Italian fare to share with a great buzz. So many of the brilliant staff are back it feels so warm and welcoming.

The dish you must try: My favourite is still the tagliatelle wagyu beef ragu.

Manly Pavilion – Manly

A new boathouse with a fresh coastal look in a brilliant location that’s just as much fun as the other boathouses. This fresh new vision for this prized location by the water is just perfect.

The dish you must try: Crab toast & lobster flatbread are hard to go past as starters.

Meet Gerard – Alexandria

A buzzy corner spot with a yummy menu for brekkie.

The dish you must try: Granny Smith French toast with apples, berries, salted caramel, ricotta, and nine spice crumble.

Concrete Jungle – Chippendale

A local gem has reopened and is serving up delicious insta-worthy food.

The dish you must try: Blueberry and lemon ricotta hotcakes that are so light & fluffy.

Cheap & cheerful lunch with crew & I’m paying for myself

The Terminus – Pyrmont

Pub classics taken up a notch, great schnitzel, bangers & mash plus a delicious lamb shoulder for two.

Forresters – Surry Hills

Good selection of pub food with a great roast of the week plus the classics such as fish & chips, steak, burgers, and a good fish pie.

Dish of the day: Jane’s potato side dish is heaven … layered potatoes, whey and brown butter sauce with cured egg yolks, and grated cheese on top.
