The Dadtime Story Collection aims to showcase the special bond children have with their dads, uncles, and grandfathers

Just in time for Father’s day, LiSTNR has gathered together some famous dads, uncles, and pops to read their favourite bedtime stories for kids in a new podcast series called Dadtime Story Collection

Launching on 1 September on LiSTNR, the Dadtime Story Collection aims to showcase the special bond children have with their dads, uncles, and grandfathers.

Among the lineup is Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes from 2Day FM’s Breakfast show Hughesy, Ed and Erin who will read How (Not) To Annoy Dad, Triple M rugby commentator Wendell Sailor reading Pig the Winner, and children’s author and one-half of podcast duo Hamish & Andy, Andy Lee, reading his own Do Not Open This Book

Hughesy said: “I chose this book because it resonates with dads. It’s therapy more than anything!”

The initial 10 episodes also feature Ed Kavalee from Hughesy, Ed and Erin reading Daddy’s Embarrassing Exploding Farty Shorts, Sean Szeps from LiSTNR’s Come Out Wherever You Are reading Miss Understood, and Adam Denston from LiSTNR’s Adam and Symon Show reading Thelma The Unicorn

Sean Szeps said: “I chose to read Miss Understood because it’s a book that my children own and adore. It nails the children’s book trifecta: great illustrations, great rhymes, great message. What more could a parent ask for?”

In addition, musician and author Josh Pyke reads The Bewilderbeast, V8 Supercars driver David Reynolds reads Pig the Star, Channel 7 TV presenter Matt Baseley reads We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, and author Matt Cosgrove reads his own Alpaca Picnic Panic

LiSTNR Parenting and Kids Entertainment Senior Executive Producer, Lorna Clarkson, said: “We are thrilled that so many of our favourite ‘star’ dads and uncles have stepped up to read their favourite bedtime stories for the kids of Australia. We can’t wait to add more dads and stories to the collection, and hope it helps to solve bedtime for parents everywhere!”
