Dan Taylor nabs ABC Drive role after Hit Network axe
The former Hit100.9 breakfast host joins ABC Northern Tasmania less than two months after SCA axed Dan & Christie.

Dan Taylor has landed the Drive chair at ABC Northern Tasmania, less than two months after Southern Cross Austereo axed his Hit100.9 Hobart breakfast show with Christie Hayes.
The ABC now lists Taylor as presenter of Northern Tasmania Drive. The program airs from 4pm on 91.7FM and ABC listen.
A fast return to radio
The appointment returns Taylor to northern Tasmania, where he previously spent seven years hosting breakfast on Chilli FM. Radio Today reported that he takes over from fill-in presenter Sunshine Wood.

ABC Northern Tasmania said Taylor has more than 20 years of radio experience. His broadcasting career has taken him from his hometown of Burnie to Ballarat.
After the Hit Network axe
SCA ended Dan & Christie on 17 June, after giving the presenters less than a day’s notice as part of wider regional cost cuts. The program had led Hobart breakfast in the 2025 survey with a 21.2 per cent audience share.
Taylor and Hayes then launched a weekday podcast from a caravan in New Norfolk. Hayes has since moved to a solo daily podcast, while Taylor has returned to live radio with the ABC.
