Brisbane Radio Ratings 2022, Survey 4: Nova extends its lead with a big jump in share

Nova has remained in the top spot, lifting 1.4 points for a 10+ share of 12.6% – the biggest lift of any station in Brisbane for this survey. Another 14,000 addition in cume means that Nova 106.9 has risen a total of 132,000 since the beginning of the year.

The breakfast team of Ash, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill lost the #1 ranking to B105 in survey two, but have managed to claw the title back, coming in at 13.1% – a lift of 1.6 points. Nova continues to dominate the drive slot with the national team of Kate, Tim and Joel rising 1.3 points for a total share of 15.7% and taking the title of #1 overall drive. Nova has remained #1 in the 10-17, and picked up #1 in 18-24.

KIIS 97.3FM has continued to correct some of the initial drop off that occurred with its rebranding to KIIS, which saw it lose 2.7 points in survey 1. This survey saw KIIS rising 0.8 points and keep its place as second overall with a stare of 11.6%. In breakfast,  Robin, Terry & Kip have stayed steady with their 9.9% share. In drive, Will and Woody have lifted 1.8 points for a total of 12.0%, bumping them up from #3 drive show to #2 in the market.

After two huge lifts in cume in the most recent two surveys, B105 stayed steady with cume and has lifted 0.5 points this survey. The station slipped to #4 in the last survey period, but is making up ground by lifting to #3 overall. The station’s breakfast show of Stav, Abby and Matt has lost its #1 placing to Nova despite gaining 0.3 points, now coming equal second with Triple M breakfast on 12.0%. Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little have dropped to #3 in their daypart despite a rise of 1.2 points with a share of 11.9% The station has remained #1 in 25-39.

Triple M Brisbane has risen 0.9 points, continuing to recover after recording its worst result in over five years in survey 1. The Big Breakfast with Marto, Margaux, and newcomer Dan Anstey has moved up to an equal #2 spot in the daypart after gaining 2.1 points, tying them with B105. The drive show, The Rush Hour with Liesel, Liam & Dobbo is up 1.5 points to 11.0%.

After ACMA broadcast regulations meant ARN had to divest the Brisbane AM licence after the acquisition of Grant Broadcasters, 4KQ has a new owner in SEN. This is the final survey with 4KQ under ARN.

The station has seen a drop of 0.5 points for a total share of 10.2%. Breakfast with Laurel, Gary & Mark has lifted 1.5 points, bringing the show to an 11.1% share, before they head off to their new home on 4BC. The station continues to play well to the older demographics by remaining #1 in and 65+. In the 65+ demographic, 4KQ has lifted 1.1 points for a share of 28.5%.

4BC has stopped its slide, up 0.5 points after a dip of 1.1 points last survey. Neil Breen‘s breakfast share lifted 0.5% for a total of 8.0%. Ray Hadley finished #6 in the mornings with a share of 7.7%, rising 0.8 points. After two surveys in a row down in every daypart, 4BC turned the tide and lifted in every daypart in this survey.

Next survey will look a bit different for 4BC, with 4KQ’s Laurel, Gary and Mark moving to the station after the sale of 4KQ to SEN.

The all-music format is down 0.5 points to 1.3%, its lowest share since survey eight 2020.
