Anthony Albanese to headline Sky News’ 2025 Economic Outlook event

Anthony Albanese will outline his government’s economic agenda post-reelection at the annual business luncheon hosted by Sky News and The Australian.

Following a landmark re-election securing a historic number of seats for the Labor Party, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will headline the 2025 Australia’s Economic Outlook event on Friday, 4 July.

The annual luncheon, co-hosted by Sky News and The Australian, will be held at Crown Sydney.

Focus on cost of living and clean energy

Albanese is set to present his government’s immediate and long-term economic strategies, focusing on cost-of-living relief, renewable energy transition, and trade policies.

The event comes amid a complex economic landscape, with recent Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) interest rate cuts and ongoing concerns over national debt and sluggish growth.

Political and business voices join the discussion

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell will conduct a live interview with the Prime Minister following his keynote, addressing policy impacts on households and businesses.

Paul Whittaker, CEO of Sky News Australia, stated, “Following the Albanese Government’s resounding second term win, we are honoured to welcome back Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. This forum arrives at a crucial time, with significant promises made during the campaign—ranging from universal tax cuts to an $8.5 billion Medicare boost.”

Michelle Gunn, Editor-in-Chief of The Australian, noted the importance of the event in framing Australia’s economic direction: “With the Prime Minister outlining his government’s agenda following a historic election win, this year’s event promises to be one of the most compelling yet.”

The luncheon will be hosted by Sky News journalist Laura Jayes, with panel discussions led by The Australian’s Associate Editor Eric Johnston and Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood.

The full speaker lineup, including business and political leaders, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets and event details are available at Sky News Outlook.
