Three of the four commercial FM station saw share drop this survey and Mix was one of them. However, it has hung on as #1 overall despite share tumbling in every daypart. Share at breakfast was down 1.0 to 10.6% which is the lowest share in over four years and only the second time under 11% in that time. And yet it still ranks #1 FM. Mix also ranks #1 40-54 and 55-64, although the margin has shrunk to just 1.0 in the former.

Much of the audience that drifted away in the first survey of the years seems to have swung back. All the daypart growth is amazing including 3.4 to 13.9% for Penbo and Will in breakfast and, get this, 8.2 to 20.9% in evening for Jeremy Cordeaux. Fiveaa’s 65+ share has also had a remarkable growth spurt – up 7.3 to 23.6%.

2019 results: Best/worst
Best 10+ 9.3% (8.6%)
Best breakfast 7.1% (5.9%)

This station doesn’t get much press, but the AM music format is only 0.8 behind the market leader and presumably much better resourced sister station Mix 102.3. It does trail significantly in cume though which accounts for a few ad dollars. Its best result is weekends where Cruise again ranks #1 overall, and now 2.1 ahead of Mix in second place.

Nova 91.9 10.2% (11.0%)

Cume 326,000 (-15,000)

Best breakfast 10.9% (9.4%)

Returning Adelaide hosts Ben and Liam worked hard in breakfast this survey. Although their share actually dipped slightly, they remain #2 FM breakfast where they now trail Mix by just 0.9. Share dropped by larger amounts across the day. Kate, Tim and Marty shed 1.0. but remain well ahead of all drive competitors. Nova remains #1 18-24 and has closed the gap as #2 25-39.

Cume 191,000 (no change)

Strong recovery here after a shocker in survey one. Roo and Ditts led the recovery with their breakfast show up 2.3 to 8.9%. Morning and afternoon also performed well, back into double figures. So strong was the recovery, the station went oh-so-close to stealing 40-54 of Mix.
