ABC has launched The Case Of, a new twice-weekly podcast offering in-depth reporting from Australia’s biggest trials. The format follows the success of Mushroom Case Daily, which drew more than 11 million downloads and over 8,300 listener letters to its Q&A segment.
The first case covered is that of celebrity crocodile wrangler Matt Wright in Darwin’s Supreme Court. Wright faces charges related to an alleged cover-up following a fatal helicopter crash in Arnhem Land three years ago, which killed his friend and Outback Wrangler co-star Chris “Willow” Wilson.
Hosted by Stephen ‘Stockie’ Stockwell, the series will recap court proceedings, explain legal processes, and unpack the details behind headline cases. Listeners can submit questions to ABC’s court reporters, ranging from “What do juries get served for lunch?” to “How circumstantial can your circumstantial evidence be?”
Each episode will feature Stockwell alongside reporters Olivana Smith-Lathouris and Matthew Garrick, providing analysis and insight into the trial. Episodes are released every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.
The Case Of is available now on the ABC listen app and other major podcast platforms.
