Outstanding newcomer: Muster Dogs (ABC, 549,000)

The audience has again warmed to the third episode of the series from executive producer and series director Monica O’Brien of Ambience Entertainment and filmmaker Melissa Spencer of Stock Chick Films. The series only trails Vera in non-news TV ratings at the ABC (see below for more.)

TV ratings

Seven: Network 34.7%, Primary 25.7%, 7mate 3.8%

Seven News and the Beijing Winter Olympics was a medal-winning combination for the first week of 2022 survey.
Seven News had four of the top six spots in the all people rankings for Week 7, 2022.
Seven then had audiences over 500,000 for the evening sessions of the Winter Olympics each night of the week.
The network’s best away from news and sport was Home and Away on 498,000 and The Chase on 496,000.

Nine: Network 28.7%, Primary 21.3%, Gem 2.3%

Although the second week of Married at First Sight was up against the Beijing Winter Games, all four episodes of the series managed to find a spot in the top 10 of the week. Monday performed best with 983,000, Tuesday was on 914,000 and Wednesday pulled in 868,000. Sunday suffered most at the hands of the competition, yet was still the most watched in its timeslot with 825,000.
Also in the mix near the top of the chart for the week was 60 Minutes with 745,000, just ahead of A Current Affair with 603,000.
The second week of ITV Studios Australia Behind Bars features Melissa Doyle hosting for the Nine Network. The show had an audience of 479,000.

10: Network 13.9%, Primary 8.6%, 10 Peach 2.4%

Three programs broke above half a million for 10 and they were all episodes of the 2022 series of Australian Survivor. Leading the way was the Sunday episode with 507,000. The Survivor audience is consistent with the other two episodes only a handful of viewers behind.
The Project was next best with 362,000 at 7pm Sunday and then weeknights at 7pm on 326,000.

TV ratings

ABC: Network 15.5%, Primary 11.9%, Kids/TV Plus 1.7%

The Sunday News was just over 600,000 while the weekday average was just under.
No surprise that Vera was the next best performer with the 560,000 fans of DCI Vera Stanhope keeping the episode just outside the weekly top 20.
Other members of the half million club were Muster Dogs (549,000), Death in Paradise (536,000) and Hard Quiz (531,000).

SBS: Network 7.2%, Primary 3.9%, Viceland 1.4%

One program was oh-so-close to 200,000 and no prize for guessing it was hosted by Michael Portillo. The repeat episode of Great Continental Railway Journeys was on 198,000.
