TV Ratings September 30, 2023: Collingwood take home their 16th premiership in tense Grand Final showdown against the Lions

Seven’s AFL Saturday Night football finals topped Total TV with a growth of 1,414,000 lifting by 1%.

The biggest jump in commercial primetime viewing goes to ABC’s The Newsreader, where the Total TV audience grew by 55% to reach 201,000 viewers. 

Overnight TV Ratings, September 30

Seven enjoyed a Saturday night win in both the network and primary channel shares with 26.9% and 37%, respectively. GEM won the multichannels with 3.8%.

Seven’s AFL Grand Final saw Collingwood take the trophy home in a tense and close match with the Brisbane Lions that was neck and neck until the very last minute. The final score was 90-86 and 2,465,000 tuned in to watch. A further 100,000 were also recorded at the MCG to watch the showdown and they were also treated to a killer KISS pre-entertainment show that set the mood for the electric game of footy. It’s Collingwood’s 16th premiership. 

Nine’s airing of A Current Affair saw the program meet with international best-seller Judy Nunn as she just released her 17th Novel, Black Sheep. Getaway saw 217,000 as the program showcased the best of the Singapore food scene. 

On the ABC, Shakespeare and Hathaway was viewed by 361,000 as Frank and Lu were called to look into the death of a beauty queen. Vera saw 364,000 as Vera and her team investigated the mystery that lasted 30 years. 

10 aired The Dog House Australia to 180,000 as the program met with a deaf couple looking for a new pup.

SBS aired Secret Nazi Bases to 58,000.

On Fox Footy, AFL Grand Final Day’s Longest Kick saw 138,000 tune in and the second day of the Ryder Cup saw 44,000.
