Nine

Nine was the top primary channel last night with a share of 20.3% and was also the #1 network with a 28.8% share.

Lego Masters had 700,000 viewers last night which was down on last week’s 725,000 viewers.

The episode featured an immunity challenge, with the teams tasked to make arcade games, as each of the six teams was given a different theme. The winner was Scott and Owen who made an 80s rock band themed design with creative use of mechanisms. Owen engineered a motor totally out of lego that would turn three lights on and then off again in order.

This was followed by the film Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle with 290,000.

Seven

Big Brother had 515,000 viewers last night which was down on last Tuesday’s 622,000 viewers.

In the episode, housemates competed in pairs for the challenge, with Daniel and Christina holding on to claim victory over Mel and Tilly.

Danny thought he had it all worked out, nominating vegan foe Sarah Jane for eviction alongside safe votes Sid and Mary but Big Brother put the surprise in Surprise Week as SJ and Mary were voted out in a  double eviction. But Big Brother had one more twist up his sleeve, keeping the eliminated contestants in the game with The Attic.

The Good Doctor then had 299,000 which was down on last week’s 328,000 viewers.

Home and Away was the top program on Seven last night with 593,000.

MasterChef had 517,000 as Jock’s double chocolate tart sounded like a sweet dream, but it quickly turned into Maja’s nightmare as she was the fifth contestant eliminated.

Eric, Sabina, Conor, Maja, Kishwar and Therese faced a pressure test to determine who would be the next to leave the competition as Jock revealed his version of both a sweet and savoury tart and the contestants were asked to decide which version they wanted to recreate. In a twist, Jock announced they would have to cook the opposite tart to their preference.

Maja felt she hadn’t done Jock’s dish justice and the judges agreed that there wasn’t enough bitterness or salt to cut through the sweetness. It was this lack of balance that saw Maja wave goodbye to the MasterChef kitchen.

The episode was down on the 603,000 that the show had last Tuesday.

This was followed by the third season premiere of How to Stay Married with 247,000 viewers.

Earlier in the week, Mediaweek spoke to the series creator, lead actor, executive producer, writer and director (episode 4) of the series, Peter Helliar who said the show delves into topics that it hasn’t before.

“This season feels more zeitgeisty in terms of things that are happening in the world and that’s not necessarily the pandemic it is a lot about people going through conspiracy rabbit holes.

“There is an episode about going through an enviro audit of the house for a school project and how hard it is sometimes to be good. And online debates, whether or not you can have a debate online and other interesting areas that we have explored this year that we haven’t in the last two.”

ABC

Anh’s Brush with Fame had 545,000 as Anh Do was joined by model turned author Tara Moss

This was followed by Old People’s Home for 4 year olds with 637,000 viewers. The final episode of the five-episode second series of Old People’s Home had its biggest audience of the series and a second successive week over 600,000. It even managed to outrate two other Endemol Shine Australia shows last night in MasterChef and Big Brother. It went very close to toppling Lego Masters in some markets too.

SBS
