ABC’s Darby and Joan topped entertainment on Total TV with 869,000 growing by 27%.

ABC’s Vera saw a growth of 13% for a total audience of 715,000.

Overnight TV Ratings, January 20

Nine enjoyed a Saturday night win in the network and primary shares with 20.7% and 32.4%, respectively. GEM won the multichannels with 5.2%.

Seven’s airing of The Big Bash Knockout between the Adelaide Strikers and the Perth Scorchers saw the Strikers win by 50 runs. 289,000 tuned in. 

Nine’s coverage of Day 7 of the Australian Open saw 325,000 tune in to see world no. 1 Iga Światek get shocked by 19-year-old Czech Linda Noskova. Światek is now knocked out of the tournament. The upset is the first time since 1979 that the tournament’s top-seeded woman has been sent packing before the fourth round. Alexander Zverev also beat American Alex Michelsen.

On the ABC, Vera saw 381,000 viewers as Vera was called to a murder site where the charred remains of a body were found, identifying the body as a respected local police officer. Darby and Joan saw 397,000 tune in as Joan got some space from Jack, being overwhelmed by new details of her late husband’s past.

10 aired The Dog House to 115,000 as Londoners Roshni and Jay met two very different dogs, Bella the Staffie and Cech the Terrier. Jamie’s Ingredient Mediterranean also saw 82,000 tune in. 

SBS aired Secrets of Britain’s Historic Houses to 79,000 as the program visited the ‘big houses’ of Northern Ireland – the seat of the Stewards, Castle Ward and the Argory in County Armagh.

The Scorchers V Strikers matchup on FOX Cricket saw 133,000 tune in as the Strikers knocked the Scorchers out of the competition by 50 runs. 

The Big Break on FOX Cricket saw 121,000 tune in.
