Total TV Ratings, March 31

ABC’s Van Der Valk had the highest lift on total TV, with 44% to deliver an audience of 699,000 as an Indonesian ceremonial sword used as a murder weapon took Van der Valk and the team deep into the world of colonial museum artefacts.

Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens came in next, rising 6% for 661,000, while the AFL increased by 1% for 656,000.

On Nine, Escape to the Chateau, had the highest lift for the network with 29% for 234,000. 

Overnight TV Ratings, April 7

On Good Friday,  Seven topped the primary channel shares with 22.4% and the network shares with 31.8%, while 7TWO won the multichannels with 3.1%.

Seven’s Friday Afternoon AFL had 326,000 despite not airing in Perth and Adelaide. Carlton claimed victory against North Melbourne with 16.11 (107) to 11.18 (84), with 279,000 tuning in from Melbourne. Better Homes and Gardens reached 297,000 as Dr Harry stepped inside Australia’s first Mobile Wildlife Clinic. Later in the night, the annual Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal reached 115,000 and raised a record-breaking $23 million.

Nine’s Friday night NRL pulled in an audience of 228,000 as the Rabbitohs dominated the Bulldogs 50-16. Later in the night, the Dolphins claimed victory against the Cowboys 32-22. A Current Affair investigated the “Geelong Night Stalker”, who is believed to be behind break-ins and trespassing incidents across multiple homes in Melbourne. The program topped the night, reaching 516,000.

On the ABC, Gardening Australia topped entertainment with 368,000 as Hannah toured a downsized productive patch and Jerry shared bulbs for the subtropics. Up next was Van Der Valk with 332,000 as the fatal stabbing of a psychiatrist during the ritual summoning of a demon pulled Piet and his team deep into the world of Ritual Magic.

On 10, 217,000 tuned into 10 News First, while 192,000 watched the 7pm Project as the team met with Steve Clemons to discuss Donald Trump’s indictment case

The highest-rated non-news show on SBS was Wrecks That Changed The World, with 105,000.

The Cowboys v Dolphins match on Fox League topped subscription TV, clocking 349,000 views. This was followed by the Bulldogs v Rabbitohs game with 258,000. On Fox Footy, 234,000 tuned in to watch Carlton defeat North Melbourne, while Friday Footy on Fox had 84,000.
