Seven West Media’s national digital news brand, The Nightly, has released the fourth instalment of its magazine series, The Nightly On.
This edition, titled The Nightly On: Innovation, explores the people, policies and ideas shaping Australia’s future.
The magazine brings together contributions from high-profile names across sport, business and politics.
Sporting figures including Pat Cummins, Matt Shirvington, Bruce McAvaney, Harry Sheezel and Olympic champion Lani Pallister reflect on how innovation is transforming elite performance.
Boost Juice founder Janine Allis discusses building a culture of reinvention, while other features cover a Nobel Prize – tipped field known as “cognitive economics” and Australia’s Luna Roover moon mission.
The edition also examines the politics of innovation, with debate between former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Federal Industry and Innovation Minister Tim Ayres on whether the word itself has become problematic in political circles.
Magazine Editor Jay Hanna said the aim was to showcase how innovation plays out across different parts of life.
“Innovation isn’t just coded in a lab or written in complex jargon, it’s the ideas that nudge the dial – on the sporting field, in Parliament, in business and in our everyday lives. This edition of The Nightly On: Innovation shines a light on the people and breakthroughs that are extending what’s possible for all of us.”
Editor-in-Chief Christopher Dore added: “This is not a lifestyle glossy, it’s a must-read briefing for anyone in business, government or sport who wants to understand the ideas that will define Australia’s next decade.
“From the boardroom to the sporting field, from our skies to outer space, innovation is no longer a buzzword hidden in labs or Silicon Valley code. It’s here, it’s real and it’s transforming the way we work, compete and live.
“The Nightly On: Innovation delivers the fresh thinking and cross-sector insights professionals need to stay ahead of the curve.”
