The Australian will today host its 2026 Global Food Forum in Sydney, returning as the presenting partner with Visy Industries and support from The Wall Street Journal.
Now in its 14th year, the event has become a regular fixture on the corporate and agribusiness calendar, bringing together leaders from agriculture, retail, policy and investment to discuss the future of Australia’s $150 billion food and agribusiness sector.
New theme with major industry backing
This year’s theme, Sustaining Prosperity: Capturing Australia’s Global Food Advantage, focuses on agricultural innovation, sustainability, farmland investment and the long-term competitiveness of Australia’s food system.

Michelle Gunn
Michelle Gunn, The Australian’s Editor-in-Chief, said the forum continues to play a role in shaping national agribusiness conversations.
“Australia has long been a food nation, feeding ourselves and supplying markets around the world with some of the safest, most trusted produce,” Gunn said.
“Through events such as the Global Food Forum, The Australian has led the national agtech and agribusiness conversation for more than a decade – providing vital opportunities for the sector to examine how Australia can strengthen and expand its position in the global food system, remain competitive, and secure our food future.”
Supporting partners this year include Commonwealth Bank and Woolworths Group.
