Seven to broadcast John Laws final goodbye

Tune in to pay respects.

After the 2GB’S announcement of the live broadcast of state funeral for radio legend John Laws, Seven has joined the tribute coverage.

Seven will broadcast special live coverage of the State Funeral Service for the broadcasting legend this Wednesday, giving Australians the chance to farewell one of the defining voices of talkback radio.

Viewers can join 7NEWS from 1.00pm AEDT on Seven in Sydney and Melbourne, with the service also streamed live nationally on 7plus.

Michael Usher to lead live coverage

7NEWS presenter Michael Usher will anchor the broadcast, guiding viewers through the proceedings and reflecting on Laws’ decades-long impact on Australian media.

The service will be held at St Andrew’s Cathedral in Sydney, where family, friends, colleagues and dignitaries will gather to pay tribute to his contribution to broadcasting and public life.

Seven will continue its coverage into the afternoon and evening. Extended reporting will feature on 7NEWS at 4.00pm, followed by a comprehensive wrap in 7NEWS at 6.00pm.

The bulletins will include key moments from the service, archival vision, and reflections on Laws’ life, career and legacy as one of Australia’s most recognisable and influential broadcasters.

7NEWS airs nightly at 6.00pm on Seven and 7plus.
