Seven Media Group has appointed former Paramount Australia & New Zealand executive Nick Bower to the newly created role of Commercial Director, Sport – TV, Audio & Streaming, bringing the network's television and audio sport sales into a single team.

Bower, who starts in early 2027, will report to Natalie Harvey, Chief Revenue Officer. The company announced the appointment on Monday, 2 November.

According to Seven Media Group, the restructure gives advertisers and partners one point of access to its full sport portfolio across platforms. Bower will be responsible for sport revenue, cross-screen and cross-audio integration, and sport partnership models. Seven said sport will be packaged around audiences and fans, with integrated offers designed to reach fans wherever they watch, listen, read or scroll.

One team across four markets

Bower will lead sport sales teams in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

He will work with Chris Jones, Seven's Director of Sport – TV, Audio and Streaming, to align commercial opportunities with broadcast and production plans from the outset. He will also work with the legal and executive teams on code rights negotiations and senior partner relationships.

Seven said the move extends the group-wide model already used by its sport production team, which handles cross-platform promotion and talent across the group's sport content, into its commercial operations.

Harvey: 'Nick's the right person'

Harvey said the consolidated approach reflects how audiences now consume live sport and entertainment.

"No one in Australia can put a brand inside sport the way we can. We've got the big live moments, the conversation on either side of them, and the data that tells us who's actually in the room," she said.

"Nick's the right person to bring that together and make it simple for brands to get close to the culture fans care about."

Harvey added: "He's also a genuine leader. He backs his people, sets a high bar and has a team around him that's hungry to show the market what this business can do. Working hand in hand with Chris Jones and his incredible production team, who bring our sport to life for millions of Australians every week, there's no limit to what we can create for our partners. He's got big ambitions for this, and so do I."

A return to Seven

Bower has more than 20 years of commercial experience across Australia and the Asia-Pacific. He most recently served as General Manager – Ad Sales and Sport Sales Director at Paramount Australia & New Zealand.

He previously spent 10 years at Seven across sport sales, sponsorships and senior commercial management. His other roles include Senior Vice President of Partnerships at Football Marketing Asia and Vice President of Ad Sales & Partnerships (APAC & Middle East) at FOX Sports. He has also worked as an international commercial consultant with True Digital Group.

Across his career, Bower has led commercialisation across broadcast, digital and streaming for properties including the AFL, the Olympic Games, the Australian Open and Formula 1.

"Sport has an extraordinary ability to bring people together and connect brands with moments that matter," Bower said.

"What excites me about joining Seven Media Group right now is not only their phenomenal sports rights line up, but also the opportunity to work alongside the talented team, who deliver unrivalled sports content—something I know first-hand, having spent 10 years of my career at Seven. So returning to the network is particularly special."

He said the role's reach across sport, television, streaming and audio – "including Triple M, which I'm a fan of as a listener" – “opens up the most exciting possibilities to create innovative partnerships, deliver greater value for clients and drive commercial growth for Seven Media Group and its partners.”
