Sean Walsh has announced his departure from dmg media as its chief brand officer after almost two years in the role and nearly a decade with the company.

Walsh took to LinkedIn to share his news and reveal his new role, an executive position at Bilt Rewards, a US-based rewards platform for renters.

Walsh’s tenure with dmg began in 2014 as chief brand officer of DailyMail.com in New York. He was promoted to global chief brand officer and managing director, US Operations, dmg media in January 2022.

Walsh wrote: “For 10 years, I’ve had the honor of representing Daily Mail across the globe – first Daily Mail Australia, then DailyMail.com in the United States and most recently dmg media.

“However, it’s now time to embark on a new adventure. On September 12 I’m excited to join Ankur Jain and Bilt Rewards as Managing Director, External Relations.

“I’m beyond thankful and grateful that Martin ClarkeRich Caccappolo and Lord Rothermere took a risk and trusted the Aussie guy from Sydney with these influential global brands,” he said.

“I’m full of gratitude for my phenomenal team, global colleagues, media partners, our commercial clients and all of the friends I made along the way who helped and supported me.

“And finally, I’m thankful for my family and their unwavering support,” Walsh added.

Prior to his time at Daily Mail, Walsh was head of digital and trade communications for Nine after holding down corporate comms roles for Wesfarmers and GE Capital.

Walsh first worked for Nine as a producer for A Current Affair in Brisbane in 2002 and later moved to Sydney working with the show’s anchors Ray Martin and then Tracy Grimshaw. Prior to joining Nine, Walsh worked briefly as a producer on Seven’s Today Tonight.
