Sam Wood's fitness empire rebrands with name change after domestic violence charges
“A new look, a new chapter, but with the same heart."

Sam Wood’s fitness business, 28 by Sam Wood, by which he became an Australian household name, has officially rebranded.
The move comes less than a month after the company ended its relationship with Wood, when domestic violence charges were revealed.
The company is now known as evvr.
The Instagram for 28 by Sam Wood has been deleted.
DBG Health cancelled its relationship with Wood on October 6, when the 46-year-old was arrested and charged with domestic violence against his wife, Snezana Wood.
The Daily Telegraph reports that in a video shared on the company’s Instagram account, “a group of well known fitness trainers introduced the new brand, promising members the program’s workouts, recipes and community would remain.”

“In the coming weeks, you’re going to see a new name and a fresh, new look,” pilates instructor Alice Bennett says in the video.
“We are taking all of the magic that we have built and made here together. Your favourite trainers, your favourite workouts that you know and love, and most importantly, this amazing community.
“A new look, a new chapter, but with the same heart. This is evvr.”
Wood was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in a domestic violence context, and strangulation in a domestic setting, earlier this month after police were called to an incident in Noosa.
Wood was arrested, and a week later, was denied bail. He remains in custody and the matter will continue in court.
