Reports: Karl Stefanovic fired by Nine after Tommy Robinson interview

Karl Stefanovic Show launch

Nine has reportedly terminated Karl Stefanovic after his podcast interview with far-right activist Tommy Robinson was pulled within 24 hours.

Karl Stefanovic has reportedly been axed by Nine following the publication of a podcast interview with British far-right activist Tommy Robinson, with all traces of the episode removed from online platforms within 24 hours of it airing.

The termination was first reported by The Australian’s Steve Jackson and subsequently confirmed to Mediaweek by several sources.

In the episode of The Karl Stefanovic Show, Robinson – whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon – claimed an uprising is underway in Australia, declared he “loves” Pauline Hanson, and said he is causing a “f***ing earthquake” in the UK.

Logies bosses are tonight said to be in crisis talks as they are considering whether or not to rescind Stefanovic’s recent nomination for the Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter
