‘New level of gameplay, strategy and competitiveness’: The Floor returns to Nine

One winner and $200,000 grand prize on the line.

The Floor is set to return to Nine, following its breakout debut as the network’s top new show of 2025.

Hosted by Rodger Corser, the new season will see 81 contestants compete on a giant interactive LED arena, battling through trivia duels to take control of the floor.

Each contestant enters with a specialist subject, aiming to win head-to-head challenges, conquer tiles and ultimately claim the entire arena.

Only one contestant will take home the $200,000 grand prize.

New twists and gameplay

This season introduces expanded gameplay elements, including the return of the Time Boost, which gives contestants a lifeline during duels, and The Freeze, allowing players to protect their territory and strategically advance.

The format also leans into a generational battle, with contestants ranging from experienced trivia players to younger competitors, adding a new dynamic to the competition.

Among the contestants are recognisable Australian personalities, including Olympic gold medallist Steven Bradbury, celebrity chef Hayden Quinn, Travel Guides personality Kevin Moloney, and Love Island Australia contestant Tommy Armour.

Built for family viewing

Positioned as a family-friendly format, The Floor encourages viewers to play along from home across a wide range of trivia categories.

Corser said the new season raises the bar on competition and entertainment.

“I can’t wait for Australia to be immersed in all the drama, suspense and fun of The Floor season two… with a new level of gameplay, strategy and competitiveness,” he said.

When and where?

The show returns after delivering the biggest debut in VOZ history, reinforcing its position as a key entertainment format for Nine.

The Floor premieres Sunday, April 19 at 7.00 pm on Channel 9 and 9Now, with episodes continuing on Monday at 7.30pm.
