MrBeast company hit with lawsuit over harassment and workplace claims

The claim has been filed by Lorrayne Mavromatis, who worked at the company between 2022 and 2025.

MrBeast’s media company is facing a lawsuit from a former executive alleging sexual harassment and workplace gender bias.

The claim has been filed by Lorrayne Mavromatis, who worked at the company between 2022 and 2025, including as head of Instagram.

Beast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, remains the king of YouTube with over 479 million subscribers and has over 500 people working for him.

Lawsuit targets CEO James Warren

At the heart of court filings, Mavromatis alleges that harassment of female employees was “condoned” within the business and that complaints were not taken seriously.

According to the lawsuit, former Beast Industries CEO James Warren is accused of inappropriate behaviour, including allegedly arranging one-on-one meetings at his home and making comments about Mavromatis’ appearance.

As per Variety, Warren also further “dismissed her complaint about a male client’s unwelcome advances toward her as nothing (telling her that she should be honoured that the client was hitting on her).”

‘Hostile environment’ claims detailed

She claims she was terminated after raising concerns about what she describes as a hostile work environment and taking maternity leave.

Among the claims, Mavromatis alleges that a former executive made comments about her appearance affecting working relationships and that she was moved into a role described internally as one where “careers go to die”.

Explosive claims from court filings

Moreover, the lawsuit also involved Warren’s comment about MrBeast, stating that “Jimmy gets really awkward around beautiful women,” which is the main reason Donaldson would not be near Mavromatis on certain projects

“Let’s just say that when you’re around, and he goes to the restroom, he’s not actually using the restroom,” Warren added.

Following that incident, Mavromatis began to wear oversized (baggy) clothes and baseball caps. “So her looks would not potentially negatively impact her employment,” the lawsuit stated.

These comments come after the lawsuit stated:

Multi-million dollar damages sought

She is seeking damages, including lost wages, benefits and reinstatement, citing emotional and psychological harm.

“Due to MrBeast’s willful violations of the [Family and Medical Leave Act] and intentional violations of North Carolina state law, Plaintiff seeks lost wages, lost benefits, reinstatement, front pay in lieu of reinstatement, liquidated damages, compensatory damages, punitive damages, injunctive relief, pre- and post-judgment interest, and reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs,” Mavromatis’s suit stated.

Company response and denial

A representative for Beast Industries has denied the allegations, describing them as “categorically false”.

The company said it has evidence, including messages, documents and witness testimony that “unequivocally refutes” the claims, and characterised the lawsuit as a “clout-chasing complaint”.

It also said her dismissal was part of a broader organisational restructure affecting multiple roles.

“There is extensive evidence – including Slack and WhatsApp messages, company documents, and witness testimony – that unequivocally refutes her claims. We will not submit to opportunistic lawyers looking to manufacture a payday from us,” the spokesperson said.

In response to the Beast’s bathroom allegations, the spokesperson called this a manufactured allegation created for “the sole purpose of sparking headlines”.

“It’s also disgusting that the lawsuit is exploiting Jimmy’s eye condition and Crohn’s disease – two medical conditions he has been publicly open about – in their attempt to secure a multimillion-dollar payday,” the spokesperson stated in response to Donaldson’s eye disorder.
