After the successful launch of the Mediaweek 100 brand last year – which saw Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch, Mike Sneesby, the Stokes family, James Warburton, and Beverley McGarvey listed in the top 10 as the most powerful people in the Australian media industry – the countdown is back for 2022.

This time it will be bigger and better as part of the new Mediaweek Power Lists brand, which will include a major live event, The Mediaweek 100 Power Lunch on October 21 at The Crown’s Pearl Ballroom in Sydney.

The Mediaweek Power Lists will be headlined by the Mediaweek 100 which will showcase the 100 most powerful people in the media industry. It will also include two new lists this year: the Mediaweek Agency 50, and the Mediaweek Star Power 25.

The Mediaweek Agency 50 will name the most powerful media agency leadership & investment directors in the industry, while the Star Power 25 will showcase the best talent in both TV and audio.

These two additional lists were added to create a full picture of power and influence in the media industry, since these categories are not considered for the Mediaweek 100.

The Mediaweek 100 will be edited by Mediaweek’s editor-in-chief and publisher, James Manning, while the Agency 50 will be edited by industry legend Greg “Sparrow” Graham, and the Star Power 25 will be edited by Mediaweek editor and general manager, Trent Thomas.

Mediaweek has partnered with industry leading event company, Usual Suspects, to launch its first major event. Usual Suspects have worked with a raft of world class clients including Seven West Media, News Corp, AANA, ADMA, and UnLTD.

For the sake of credibility, the Mediaweek Power Lists do not require nominations but interested parties are welcome to submit themselves or others for consideration by emailing [email protected].
