ABC has quietly removed Bluey’s Hammerbarn episode from iview just as Bunnings relaunched a promo inspired by it.
According to Ian Royall in The Daily Telegraph, Bunnings says it had nothing to do with the decision, calling the move “disappointing.”
There’s been no official word from Aunty just yet.
Tension at Seven as Usher gets Logie nod over Ferguson
Mark Ferguson is reportedly ‘unimpressed’ after Seven put forward Michael Usher, not him, for a Logie in the new Ray Martin Award category.
Usher is Seven’s only nominee, up against big names from Nine and the ABC. Insiders say Ferguson feels sidelined, despite his prime time news role.
As Annette Sharpe writes on news.com.au, the timing is interesting, with Usher also gaining fans on Dancing With The Stars, where he’s now a surprise finalist.
Former Sky host slams network over Israel stance
Former Late Debate co-host Liz Storer has broken her silence after disappearing from Sky News Australia in June, accusing the network of peddling pro-Israel “propaganda” and calling it “evil.”
As Nicholas Comino details in The Daily Mail, Storer made the allegations during an interview on 2SM with ex-Sky presenter Chris Smith.
Sky News Australia is yet to comment.

New York Times vandalised over Gaza image correction
Pro-Palestinian activists have defaced The New York Times’ office with red paint after the paper admitted it published a misleading photo of a malnourished Gaza toddler.
The image, which ran on the front page, omitted that the child had pre-existing health issues. The Times has since added an editor’s note.
The Australian reports the photo was also used by several global outlets, including the ABC, BBC and CNN.

Jonesy & Amanda confirm they are heading to drive
After more than two decades on Sydney breakfast radio, Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones and Amanda Keller have confirmed they are moving to the drive slot.
The change is understood to be part of Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) broader ongoing rebrand of WSFM to Gold 101.7, which began at the beginning of 2025.
The duo made the announcement to listeners on their show this morning, with Keller beginning by saying to Jonesy, “You and I have some big news.”

Garner gets global spotlight thanks to Dua Lipa book pick
Helen Garner is having a pop culture moment.
As Luca Ittimani reports on The Guardian, singer Dua Lipa has chosen Garner’s This House of Grief for her monthly book club.
Garner, arguably Australia’s greatest living writer (at least according to this writer), called Lipa a “serious and sensitive” interviewer, while Lipa praised the 2014 true crime classic for its “sharp and forensic analysis of the human condition.”
In an Instagram post, Lipa said discovering Garner’s work was “thrilling,” and encouraged fans to explore her back catalogue.

Paramount’s Dan Cohen exits ahead of Skydance merger
Paramount’s Chief Content Licensing Officer, Dan Cohen, is stepping down after eight years with the studio, just weeks before the company’s merger with Skydance is set to close.
Cohen, who also served as President of Republic Pictures, announced his departure in a note to staff, calling it “an incredibly difficult decision” and reflecting on a “rewarding chapter” in his career.
As Deadline’s Peter White explains, He’s been a key player in selling Paramount content to global platforms and played a major role in reviving Republic Pictures, backing titles like Blackberry and The Greatest Night in Pop.

The new James Bond flick gets a writer
Steven Knight, the brains behind Peaky Blinders, has been brought on to write the next James Bond film for Amazon MGM Studios.
As Angelique Jackson details in Variety, the project is being produced by industry heavyweights Amy Pascal and David Heyman, with Tanya Lapointe on board as executive producer.
Knight, best known for crafting gritty British dramas, now takes on 007, marking a bold tonal shift for the long-running spy franchise.
