Event Cinemas has released more than 30,000 additional tickets for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey at IMAX Sydney after more than 160 sessions sold out following the film's release.

More than 100 new sessions will go on sale from 9.30am on Friday, 7 August, covering screenings from 20 August to 23 September. The release includes early morning weekend sessions and an additional Open Captions screening.

More than 100 new sessions added

Event Cinemas said more than 50,000 people have either seen the film or booked tickets to upcoming sessions at IMAX Sydney, with demand remaining strong after three weeks of sold-out screenings.

Claire Gandy, General Manager of Film at Event Cinemas, said: "The response to The Odyssey at IMAX Sydney has been extraordinary. With three weeks of sold-out sessions and thousands of guests already through our doors, we know just how much audiences want to see this movie the way it was filmed to be seen. Releasing over 100 new sessions and 30,000 additional seats means more moviegoers can experience The Odyssey on one of the biggest screens in the world.”

The Odyssey is the first narrative feature film shot entirely using 15-perf 70mm IMAX film cameras.
