ARN has announced sports presenter Max Burford will join Mix 102.3’s The Ali Clarke Breakfast Show in 2023, bringing a wealth of knowledge in sport and the local community to the on-air role.

Burford is already a well-known name in Adelaide due to his ongoing work with 10 News First Adelaide, which recently announced his appointment to co-front Adelaide’s 10 News First weekday bulletin next year.

Joining the team in studio this morning to share the news, Max Burford said: “I’ve been fortunate enough to have had some great mentors throughout my career, and there aren’t many better places to continue growing and learning than under the wing of Ali Clarke.

“The early mornings will take some getting used to, but assuming I don’t sleep through the alarm it’s going to be a whole lot of fun talking nonsense with the people of Adelaide every day.”

Mix 102.3 Breakfast host Ali Clarke added: “From the first time I saw him host an awards night, I wanted to work with him as he’s bloody funny and a genuinely nice bloke. I can’t wait to have him as part of our family bringing all things sport and Adelaide.”

On the appointment, Duncan Campbell, ARN chief content officer, said: “It’s fantastic that Max has chosen ARN to help grow his radio career. Max is a talent of the future. I am looking forward to the relationship between Ali, Max and the team evolving on air for all of Adelaide to enjoy each morning.”

Burford started with Network 10 straight out of university as a full-time journalist in 2015, and his knowledge of sport and passion for the industry saw him quickly transition into the sports division. His work was recognised when he was awarded Best Young Journalist in 2018 at the SA Media Awards, and in November 2022, Burnford was appointed to the role of Adelaide Sports Presenter for 10 News First.
