“I want it to work”: Julia Morris on Dr Chris Brown’s I’m A Celebrity replacement

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here

“I’m going to have to leave everything of the past behind”

Having officially left Network 10 for rival Network Seven, Dr Chris Brown has left a vet-sized hole in the hosting lineup of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

Julia Morris has co-hosted the show with Brown for the past nine years, and spoke to Yahoo Lifestyle about his potential replacement, starting by saying that  “I don’t know who” the host will be just yet – although a pool of candidates has been narrowed down.

“We start chemistry testing pretty soon with a number of different people – not even a number of different people, I think there’s kind of a party of six. And from there we’ll just work out where that best chemistry is and start a new adventure,” said Morris.

The magnitude of the decision isn’t lost on Morris either, saying that “Whoever that person is is going to have a huge effect on whether I’m working over the next few years, so I want it to work.”

After the better part of a decade working with Brown, Morris also told Yahoo that the show would be filmed “in a completely different way” without him.

“I’m going to have to leave everything of the past behind,” she said. “Whoever comes in is going to want to build that together. So there’s plenty of space for that person, we’re just looking forward to finding out who that’s going to be.”

In May this year – as the show stepped out of its usual New Years spot – I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! crowned Liz Ellis Queen of the Jungle, with Harry Garside coming in second, and Aesha Scott third. 562,000 watched the emotional end, peaking at 592,000 for the winner’s announcement.
