Fremantle Australia elevates two key creative leaders in Scripted

The four-part drama Imposter is also nearing completion in post-production.

Fremantle Australia has strengthened its scripted division with two internal promotions, naming Ellie Madritsch as Head of Development and Anna Curtis as Creative Producer.

The moves solidifies Fremantle’s ongoing commitment to developing local talent as the company continues to deliver some of Australia’s most recognisable scripted titles.

Ellie Madritsch Takes the Helm of Development

After nearly ten years working across Fremantle’s scripted slate, Madritsch has stepped into the role of Head of Development, where she will oversee the creative pipeline from concept through to greenlight.

Madritsch began her career at Fremantle as a Development Executive before moving into Associate Producer and later Development Producer.

She has contributed to series including the Stan/AMC title Totally Completely Fine and Fremantle’s podcast Wentworth: The Fall Girl, while also shaping a broad mix of developing projects across the slate.

Fremantle Australia’s Head of Scripted, Carly Heaton, said the promotion reflects Madritsch’s strong track record and creative leadership.

“Ellie is a local industry success story. In this new role as Head of Development, she’s climbed every rung with creativity, care and sheer determination. Her storytelling superpowers and passion for partnerships will ensure our slate continues to surprise and delight audiences both here and around the world.”

Anna Curtis Steps Into Creative Producer Role

Fremantle has also promoted Anna Curtis to Creative Producer, where she will guide projects from late-stage development through production and delivery.

Curtis most recently served as Co-Producer on Netflix’s global hit Heartbreak High and has worked on Home and Away and Back to the Rafters. The new role positions her as a key creative force shaping Fremantle’s next wave of drama.

On Curtis’s progression, Heaton said: “Watching Anna grow has been a joy. She pairs beautiful instincts with real production rigour, and she does it with kindness and calm. In stepping into Creative Producer, she’ll champion our creatives from late-stage development through to delivery so what audiences see on screen stays as authentic as the spark that began it.”

Fremantle Australia CEO Greg Woods said both promotions are the result of consistent dedication and represent the company’s broader commitment to nurturing emerging industry leaders.

“The hard work, passion and growth of both Ellie and Anna has led to their new roles at Fremantle, setting our team up for great future success. As an organisation, staff development and promoting within is a key element of our culture and I’d like to congratulate these two future leaders of our industry on the next stage of their exciting careers.”

The power move follows as Fremantle wraps the the third and final season of Netflix hit Heartbreak High and prepares for the final episodes of Neighbours ending an 40-year-old run on Ten and Prime.
