Fetch TV has expanded its content offering with the launch of six new channels in Australia, alongside the integration of the Crunchyroll streaming app. The additions are available from 1 September and mark the first time several of the channels have been offered locally.
Subscribers to the Ultimate Pack will gain access to all six channels, while those on the Variety, Vibe and Kids packs will receive selected additions. The line-up includes children’s network Moonbug Entertainment, four Stingray music channels (Loud, Retro, Country, and Hits), and premium factual channel Declassified from Blue Ant Media.
The four Stingray channels joins existing channel Stingray CMusic, along the Paramount-owned MTV 00s, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, MTV Hits, Club MTV, and nickmusic. It gives Fetch TV more linear music video channels than almost every other service in Australia (it ties with LG Channels at 11). Linear music channels represent almost 25% of the Fetch TV linear offer.
“This investment in world class content reflects our commitment to delivering the best value and broadest entertainment for Australian households,” said Fetch TV CEO Dominic Arena. “We’re proud to launch these six new channels in Australia, giving families more for less – more variety, more value, and more reasons to choose Fetch as their best value all-in-one entertainment hub.”
Moonbug makes Australian debut
Moonbug Entertainment’s linear channel will now be available on Australian television for the first time via Fetch. Moonbug is the entertainment company responsible for popular YouTube and Netflix hits including *CoComelon*, *Blippi* and *Little Angel*.
The dedicated channel is ad-free and designed as a safe environment for children.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing the very first Moonbug Channel to Australia,” said Nicolas Eglau, Managing Director EMEA, APAC & Global Distribution at Moonbug Entertainment. “Partnering with Fetch TV makes it possible for us to share the fun, music and stories that kids already love with even more families across the country.”
Music and factual expansion
The new Stingray channels broaden Fetch’s music line-up with curated offerings across genres. David Purdy, Chief Revenue Officer of Stingray, said: “The new channels give us a powerful platform to connect with music lovers of all ages and tastes.”
Meanwhile, Declassified adds a slate of history and military-focused documentaries. “Declassified goes behind the headlines to uncover the stories of warfare, intelligence, and history that have shaped our world,” said Jon Penn, Managing Director APAC at Blue Ant Media.
Crunchyroll joins Fetch
Fetch has also partnered with Crunchyroll, bringing the anime platform’s catalogue of more than 39,000 episodes across 1,600 titles into the Fetch user interface. Series such as *One Piece*, *JUJUTSU KAISEN*, *My Hero Academia* and *Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba* are included.
Terry Li, EVP Emerging Businesses at Crunchyroll, added: “Australia is home to one of the most passionate anime communities in the world, and with Fetch we’re making it easier than ever for fans here to enjoy the very best of Japan straight into living rooms across the country.”
The Crunchyroll app has been available on Fetch Gen 5 Mini devices since 27 August. Subscriptions start at $10.99 per month, while the new channels are included within Fetch packs from $7.99 per month.
