Farmer Wants a Wife recap: Tension, tests and tears as more ladies exit

‘I think Clarette can get jealous, but I guess that’s only because she cares.’

Seven’s Farmer Wants A Wife turned up the emotional dial as chemistry, compatibility and communication were all thrown into sharp focus during a series of high-stakes relationship challenges, resulting in fierce accusations, unexpected solo dates, and two dramatic departures.

In a twist designed to test true compatibility, host Natalie Gruzlewski guided the farmers and their potential matches through  relationship exercises, ending in a round of one-on-one dates. But not all participants made it through unscathed.

Blindfolds and Brutal Honesty

On Farmer Corey’s farm, Chloe, Annie, Keeley and Jadee were asked to name their “love language”. Chloe accused Jadee of “cheating” by aligning her responses with Corey’s preferences. Jadee fired back with frustration: She doesn’t know me from a bar of soap… there’s no point in lying. I’d be setting myself up for failure anyway.”

For the second exercise of the day, the farmers were blindfolded and one by one, each lady had a two-minute window to put their physical intimacy to the test.

On Thomas’ farm, there was a shared uneasiness about the task, particularly for the ladies having to watch Clarette with Thomas, given their strong connection.

“I don’t like watching, it feels wrong,” said Rachael. “It’s very strange watching other women be intimate with Farmer Thomas.

Clarette, Corey’s Pick — and Conflict

For the third exercise, the ladies were asked to write their feelings about moving to the farm, and then the farmers chose their solo dates based on all the answers.

Farmer Thomas chose Rachael, Farmer Corey chose Chloe and Farmer Tom chose Georgie.

After the dates it was confrontation time for Thomas and Clarette.

During an “honesty dinner”, Thomas stumbled when asked to name non-physical qualities he admired in Clarette. Instead, he singled out her “jealousy” as the thing he liked least.

“I meant that as a positive, but the way it came out of my mouth, I think it was a negative,” explained Thomas. “I meant to say that, yeah, I think Clarette can get jealous, but I guess that’s only because she cares, and I didn’t finish off that properly.”

Clarette, visibly shaken, later shared in a piece to camera that the comment cut deeply. “I need him to understand that it really hurt me,” she said, questioning whether Thomas would be as accepting if the roles were reversed.

Departures and a Look Ahead

The emotional toll of the week’s challenges came to a head with two surprise exits. Contestant Emily voluntarily left Tom’s farm after admitting their spark wasn’t strong enough. But then in a more unexpected move, Tom then asked Maddy to leave, telling her gently, You deserve to find happiness.”

The journey promises even more twists as the connections deepen, and the ladies meet the farmer’s friends next.
