Independent communications agency In The Media PR has added another newsroom heavyweight to its senior team, appointing former National News Director at Nine Radio, Erin Maher, as Campaign Director.
Maher joins the agency as it continues to expand its presence across Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
The appointment follows several senior hires over the past six months, including former ABC journalist and bureau leader Andrew Arthur, who joined as senior campaign manager.

From newsroom to PR boardroom
Maher brings three decades of journalism and newsroom leadership experience, including her most recent role overseeing national news operations at Nine Radio.
She joins fellow campaign directors Laura Tunstall (ex-Nine) and Amie Meehan (ex-2GB).
Founded in 2016, In The Media PR has carved out a niche as a communications agency led by former journalists, with a client base spanning The Prostate Cancer Foundation, Heart Research Australia, Adora Fertility, VoltX and Experience Gold Coast.
Founding director Oryana Angel said Maher’s arrival strengthens the agency’s vision of storytelling with purpose.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome Erin Maher to our team as a Campaign Director,” Angel wrote on LinkedIn.
“Erin is a trailblazer with three decades of newsroom and leadership experience. Her commitment to storytelling and making complex issues clear and compelling aligns perfectly with our vision.
“At In The Media PR, we’ve always believed that great public relations isn’t just about media placements. It’s about shaping authentic stories and driving impact. With Erin joining our leadership team, we’re doubling down on that belief.”
