Mix strengthens grip as #1 overall, but David & Will clear #1 breakfast
Nova’s Ben & Liam #1 FM breakfast, but Nova drive slips behind Mix

Like Brisbane, Adelaide seems to have been less impacted by Covid-19 disruption. Market leader Mix had a great survey with daytime listening jumping – morning was up 0.9 to 13.7% and afternoon was up 2.6 to 15.4%. The station also ranks #1 overall in drive where Will and Woody lifted slightly to 12.3%. Breakfast with Jodi and Soda was steady on 10.5%. Listening 18-24 and 25-39 jumped dramatically and Mix continues to rank #1 40-54.

Listeners searching for Covid information chose Fiveaa this survey where David and Will overtook the ABC in breakfast to rank #1 overall on 15.4%. Also enjoying good growth was morning and drive, although evening slipped, down 4.5 to 16.4%.

Breakfast hosts Ben and Liam can be thanked for the growth. While their lift of 1.3 in breakfast kept the station #2 FM, it was also enough to make the duo owners of the #1 FM breakfast show in Adelaide. An impressive result after only returning to the airwaves in January. Afternoon was also up 1.3, but drive slipped 3.0 to see the former market leading drive show rank #2 behind Mix.

While overall share was down 2.1, station cume managed to climb. Breakfast and drive got whacks (both down 2.2) while evening was hammered hardest – share tumbling from 20.9% to 16.4%. Still a big enough share though to rank #1 in the timeslot.

A name change here has been greeted warmly by listeners with growth in cume audience. The refreshed Bec, Cosi and Lehmo breakfast show also did well climbing 1.5 to 8.9%. The audience share 18-24 dived, down 8.0 to 13.6%. However listening 40-54 nearly doubled to 10.6%.

Share hovered above 8% again which is another good result while breakfast with Roo and Ditts pushed higher to 9.0%. That’s quite some turnaround after 6.6% in survey 1, 2020.
