Total TV Ratings, May 12

ABC’s Gardening Australia topped total TV, increasing by 17% to reach a total audience of 565,000. 

Nine had the program with the highest lift on total TV as Escape to the Chateau lifted 26% for 255,000. 

On SBS, The 2023 Eurovision Song Contest – Semi Final 1 increased by 15% to deliver a total TV audience of 300,000.

Overnight TV Ratings, May 19

Seven dominated the Friday night shares with a primary channel share of 27.0% and a network share of 37.0%, while 7mate won the multichannels with 3.8%.

In the AFL, Port Adelaide went head-to-head with Melbourne to claim a 4-point victory in front of 515,000 on Seven’s Friday Night AFL. 298,000 Melbourne residents tuned in to watch the match. Earlier in the night, The Chase aired to 500,000, claiming the top entertainment slot, while Better Homes and Gardens had 362,000 as Adam showed viewers some easy tips for keeping your house warm in winter. 

Nine’s Friday night NRL pulled in an audience of 306,000 as the Eels thrashed the second-place Rabbitohs 36-16. Nine’s top program of the night was A Current Affair, with 536,000. The program met with a woman who had come forward and told police she was the mother of a newborn baby girl who was abandoned in a Blacktown backyard in last month.  

On ABC, Gardening Australia topped entertainment with 356,000, as the team met a scientist nurturing native bees.

On 10, 220,000 tuned into 10 News First, while 156,000 watched Chase check out Bondi’s grey nurse shark colony. 

The highest-rated non-news show on SBS was Building The Impossible, with 89,000.

STV

Fox League topped the STV chart for Friday with the Eels smashing the Rabbitohs 36-16 who are coming second on the ladder compared to the Eels who are coming in 13th on the ladder. 286,000 tuned in for the match. The Dragons beat the Roosters by 2 points with the full-time score being 24-22. 252,000 tuned in. 

The Port Adelaide v Melbourne match on Fox Footy came in second on subscription TV, clocking 257,000 views.
