Reporter Steve Marshall was threatened with having his car crushed by a bulldozer when he confronted a businessman on A Current Affair last night. He managed to save the vision though which helped push the audience just over 700,000.

Travel Guides was then investigating Cambodia and Vietnam via a cruise down the Mekong River. A popular score from the guides was four out of five. The audience was 631,000 after 644,000 a week ago.

The third episode of season five of Doctor Doctor saw Hugh and Penny lock horns when she returned to work at the hospital. After 370,000 last week, the episode did 353,000 last night. The consolidated-7 figure saw another 89,000 added last week.

Seven
Home and Away’s Wednesday episode was on 591,000.

Big Brother Wednesday was on 562,000 after 556,000 on Wednesday a week ago. Last night’s episode was the key demos winner in the timeslot.

After a memorable eviction ceremony, the player had been played and Katie was sent home.

“Everyone is making big, strong moves,” said Katie. “The opportunity was there and they took it. I felt a bit blindsided, particularly by the mums, Mary and SJ. They’re the ones who had my back to begin with but didn’t in the end and it hurts. Daniel definitely fooled me. I’m so angry, I want him out of this game.”

MasterChef Australia tasked the remaining contestants with a mystery box challenge from Chef Yomo to prepare a bento box. The four boxes judged the best go into an immunity challenge on Thursday night. Those contestants were Pete, Scott, Jess and Depinder. The episode had 513,000 watching after 535,000 a week ago.

Two episodes of Bull followed with 243,000 for the first and 180,000 for the repeat.

7.30 finally had PM Scott Morrison being quizzed by host Leigh Sales. It was an intriguing confrontation and the PM managed to handle it very well for the audience of 515,000.

My Fair Lady, the QF32 emergency, Tik Tok and cricketer Ricky Ponting were the special subjects for the contestants on Hard Quiz. Among the audience of 636,000 (although perhaps watching regionally) was Russell Crowe as one of his stunt doubles was a contestant.

The penultimate episode of The Weekly with Charlie Pickering saw the host advised not to draw an image of Muhammad. Instead Nazeem Hussain hosted a segment The Week in Religion which explained the Muslim festival Eid. The audience of 488,000 was close to last week’s 481,000.

Episode three of season six of You Can’t Ask That featured sufferers of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder talking about their challenges. The guests included Osher Günsberg who revealed the lows he had been through and some of his attempts to beat it. The episode had 359,000 watching.

Viewing highlight came at 8.30pm with the second episode of See What You Made Me Do. Journalist Jess Hill continued to examine the epidemic of domestic violence. The show was the channel’s #1 program last week with 262,000 and last night’s episode was on 212,000.

Earlier in the night Tony Robinson’s History of Britain was on 207,000.
