Nine’s Second Test of the Ashes topped total TV, increasing by 17% to reach a total audience of 916,000. 

ABC had the program with the highest lift on total TV as Utopia lifted 111% for 401,000. 

On Nine, A Current Affair increased by 7% to deliver a total TV audience of 774,000.

Overnight TV Ratings, July 7

NIne dominated the Friday night shares with a primary channel share of 25.2% and a network share of 40.7%, while GEM won the multichannels with 10.2%.

In the AFL, Collingwood went head-to-head with the Bulldogs as the game ended 89-77 in front of 390,000 on Seven’s Friday Night AFL. 252,000 Melbourne residents tuned in to watch the match. Earlier in the night, The Chase aired to 530,000, while Better Homes and Gardens, topped entertainment for Seven with 429,000 as Pete and Aimee went to the Sydney Tiny Homes expo. 

Nine’s Friday night NRL pulled in an audience of 193,000 as the Raiders showed up the Dragons ending 36-26. Nine’s top program of the night was The Ashes Third Test ENG v AUS with 698,000. A Current Affair also saw 541,000 tune in as the program met with families reacting to the robodebt royal commission findings. 

On ABC, First Weapons topped entertainment with 310,000, as the program unpacked the science of the Returning Boomerang. 

On 10, 230,000 tuned into the new season of Location, Location, Location. Have You Been Paying Attention? also pulled in 132,000. 

The highest-rated non-news program on SBS was World’s Most Scenic River Journeys with 92,000.

STV

Fox League topped the STV chart for Friday with the Raiders beating out the Dragons. The final score was 36-26. 142,000 tuned in for the match.

The Western Bulldogs v Collingwood match on Fox Footy came in second on subscription TV, clocking 140,000 views. The match ended with 89-77 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.
