Nine’s A Current Affair rose 7% for a total TV audience of 738,000 as the program caught up with a man accused of faking his own kidnapping to cheat on his partner, and met the angry families who say their loved ones’ memorials were chucked into overflowing bins.

Better Homes and Gardens on Seven increased 6% for a total reach of 722,000.

Taskmaster on 10 had the highest lift on overnight with 40% to reach a total audience of 325,000.

Seven has won the Saturday night shares with a primary channel share of 19.7% and a network share of 28.9%, while 7TWO topped multichannels with a 3.8% share.

Topping entertainment for the night on Seven was Better Homes and Gardens, which saw Joh check out a business that recycles plastic milk bottles into cutting boards. The program reached 368,000 views, followed by The Chase with 360,000.

Nine’s top program was A Current Affair, with 452,000. The program shared new CCTV footage of an alleged excavator rampage in Melbourne’s western suburbs last week. Earlier in the night, Hot Seat reached 261,000, followed by Tipping Point with 224,000.

On the ABC, Gardening Australia topped the night with 377,000 as the team celebrated 34 years of gardens. Late in the night, a repeat of Van Der Valk brought in 229,000.

On 10, 224,000 tuned in to 10 News First. Later in the night, 221,000 watched The Graham Norton Show as he met with Everything Everywhere All at Once star Michelle Yeoh and Elvis star Austin Butler.

The highest-rated non-news show on SBS was Scotland: A Year in the Wild, with 97,000.

Fox Cricket has dominated subscription TV with its cricket coverage. Session three of the first test between India and Australia clocked 240,000 views, followed by session two with 199,000. The NRL pre-season between South Sydney and Manly on Fox League reached 107,000.
