Seven’s coverage of the Matildas V France match that went into penalty shootouts saw 4,461,000 tune in, lifting by 12%.

The biggest jump in commercial primetime viewing goes to ABC’s Bay of Fires, where the Total TV audience grew by 94% to reach 217,000 viewers.

Seven enjoyed a Saturday night win in both the network and primary channel shares with 37.4% and 58.7%, respectively. 7mate won the multichannels with 16.9%.

The Matildas have finished fourth in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup after a devastating loss against Sweden. The match topped the chart for the night with 2,141,000 tuning in. After a penalty in the box in the first half and a strong strike from Sweden’s captain to double the damage, the game ended 2-0. With their fourth-place result, it marks the second time they have reached the top four at a major international tournament. Although the girls didn’t get the result they were hoping for, they sure captured the nation’s attention and hearts and provided inspiration for the next generation to come through and match their success and hopefully one day, go all the way to the World Cup title.

Seven’s Saturday Night AFL saw the Swans take a 74–73 point victory over Adelaide as 341,000 tuned in to watch the match. In entertainment, Border Security – Australia’s Front Line reached 146,000.

Nine’s airing of Getaway had 259,000 as the team kayaked with the local dolphins on New Zealand’s south island. The Dragons v Storm match saw 125,000 tune in on Nine as the Storm smashed with 38-28. 

On the ABC, Grantchester was viewed by 308,000 as Geordie investigates a pair of crimes at one of Cambridge’s most prestigious colleges. 

10 aired The Dog House Australia to 138,000 as the program met a husky looking for the right fit with the Bearsley-Young family. 

SBS aired Secret Nazi Bases to 76,000.

On Fox League, the Storm beat the Dragons 38-28 in front of 164,000, while the Panthers smashed the Titans 40-14 in front of 148,000. The Tigers also beat the Dolphins 24-23 as 131,000 tuned in. 

Fox Footy’s top game was St Kilda V Geelong, which saw St Kilda dominate by 33 points in front of 109,000. GWS V Essendon clocked 101,000 as GWS won by 126 points in Sydney.
