Seven’s Friday Night AFL topped total TV, increasing by 1% to reach a total audience of 725,000. 

10 had the program with the highest lift on total TV as Location, Location, Location lifted 19% for 308,000. 

On Nine, A Current Affair increased by 7% to deliver a total TV audience of 773,000.

Overnight TV Ratings, August 18

Seven inched out the Friday night primary channel shares with 27.7% and also won the network share section with 39.1%. 7mate won the multichannels with 4.4%.

In the AFL, The Lions went head-to-head with Collingwood as the game ended 124-100 in front of 553,000 on Seven’s Friday Night AFL. 303,000 Melbourne residents tuned in to watch the match. Earlier in the night, The Chase aired to 482,000, while Better Homes and Gardens saw 372,000 as Adam helped a busy dad organise his garage.

Nine’s Friday night NRL pulled in an audience of 245,000 as the Roosters showed up the Eels ending with 34-12. Nine’s top program of the night was A Current Affair which saw 461,000 tune in as the program reflected on the life and legacy left by the late Michael Parkinson.

On ABC, Gardening Australia topped entertainment with 315,000, as Costa toured a Bollywood backyard.

On 10, 227,000 tuned into the new episode of Location, Location, Location and Have You Been Paying Attention? clocked 196,000 viewers. 

The highest-rated non-news program on SBS was World’s Most Scenic River Journeys with 71,000.

Fox Footy for Friday saw Brisbane beat out Collingwood. The final score was 124-100. 225,000 tuned in for the match.

The Roosters V Eels match on Fox League came in third on the chart with the Roosters smashing the Eels 34-12 at the CommBank Stadium in Sydney. 204,000 tuned in. 172,000 tuned in to watch the Warriors show up the Sea Eagles 29-22.
