Total TV Ratings, August 11

Home and Away was the top entertainment program in the total TV ratings with an average audience of 853,000 (up 23%) tuning in to the show’s first two episodes, with 798,000 (up 27%) tuning in to the third episode. 

The Dog House Australia was the top program on 10 with 698,000 viewers, an increase of 12%. 

On Nine, the NRL match between Melbourne Storm and the Penrith Panthers had 661,000 viewers, up 9%.

Nine (20.4%) has narrowly edged out Seven (20.0%) for the top primary channel share last night, while also securing the top network share with 27.9%.

Nine’s win came off the back of its news bulletin which had 798,000 tune in at 6:00pm and 784,000 watching the second half at 6:30pm. A Current Affair then followed with 586,000 as Simon Bouda reported on Peter Simpson’s reunion with police officer, Jim Bailey, who helped coordinate the search for his murdered daughter in 1992. 

The NRL grand final rematch between the Penrith Panthers and the South Sydney Rabbitohs then had 367,000 viewers, with 196,000 tuning in from Sydney, making it the top non-news program in the market.

On Seven, the first two episodes of Home and Away averaged 420,000 viewers, before the third and final episode of the night had 378,000 viewers. The Front Bar once again brought in a strong Melbourne audience, with 231,000 of the 340,000 audiences tuning from the city, making it the top program in the market.

On 10, The Dog House rolled out the red carpet as the special celebrity episode had 512,000 viewers, making it the top entertainment show of the night as well as #1 in the 16-39 and 18-49. 

On the ABC, Foreign Correspondent had 308,000 viewers as it went to remote north-western Myanmar. Q+A then had 254,000 viewers.

The top program on SBS was World’s Most Scenic River Journeys with 138,000.
