Nova 106.9 partners with the Brisbane Heat for the 2022/23 Cricket Season

Nova summer of cricket

The partnership will run for one year

Nova 106.9 Brisbane have announced their partnership with the Brisbane Heat ahead of a summer of big bash cricket action both on the pitch and in the studio.

Nova 106.9 number one breakfast show’s Ash, Luttsy and Susie O’Neill launched the partnership this morning with an exclusive interview with Australian batting star Marnus Labuschagne, who revealed he is signing with the Brisbane Heat for this summer’s KFC Big Bash League.

Labuschagne has agreed to a one-year deal with the Heat where he is expected to be available for six matches in the back half of the BBL following the end of the South African Test series in January.

Nova will air interviews with favourite players and run promotions for listeners to win tickets, membership and more, throughout the summer of cricket in Brisbane. The partnership will run for one year.

Nova 106.9’s Market Lead Micheal Graham said the partnership with the Brisbane Heat was a great win for the station, after a great year of successful sporting partnerships across all sports including rugby league with the Broncos and QRL, racing with the Brisbane Racing Club, and basketball with the Bullets.

“The whole station, both on-air and off-air, is really excited about teaming up with the Brisbane Heat. Cricket is of particular interest to all of our announcers, so it will make for some great content over summer. And the foyer and walkway of the Nova studios could transform into a great makeshift cricket pitch!”

Brisbane Heat tickets and membership are on sale now with seats from just $8 for kids and $22 for adults. The Women’s Big Bash League is also returning to Brisbane with tickets just $5 for kids and $10 for adults.

Last week, Andy Lee admitted to Nova’s Ben and Liam that Hamish and Andy would be cancelled in 2022.

“There are so many things that would cancel Hamish and I. I promise you – because Hamish and I do another podcast called The Remembering Project where we listen back – there are things we listen back to and go ‘nah, we’re not going to say that in this day and age.’
