TV Ratings April 7, 2022: Audiences settle in for a night on the Gogglebox couch

Total TV Ratings: March 31

On 10, Gogglebox rose 27% for a total audience of 851,000.

With only two episodes of Home and Away airing last week instead of the usual Thursday triple, the first episode lifted 30% for a total of 808,000, while the second episode rose 32% for a total of 795,000.

On the ABC, Q+A’s annual Budget special rose 16% for a total of 453,000, and SBS’s Every Family Has A Secret lifted 21% for a total of 376,000.

Seven has won the night with a primary share of 22.5% and a network share of 31.9% off the back of Home and Away and the AFL.

Seven served up their triple header of Home and Away, averaging an audience of 537,000. In Melbourne and Adelaide however, the AFL took the primetime slot as the Power took on the Demons. 422,000 watched last year’s premiers defeat the Power 68-36. The game was the top non-news show in both the Melbourne and Adelaide markets.

On Nine, A Current Affair was watched by 611,000 as the show covered the new telco filter that protects you from being bombarded with dodgy text messages and the aftermath of a funeral insurance company collapse. Then, Thursday night NRL saw the Knights host the Sea Eagles, with 275,000 watching the Sea Eagles secure a convincing win of 30-6.  

On 10, The Project covered the severe weather in NSW and Ed Sheeran‘s plagiarism court case win for an audience of 206,000 (6:30pm) and 302,000 (7pm), before taking 337,000 on First Dates. 533,000 then tuned in to see the Goggleboxers take on the week in TV.

ABC’s 7:30 was watched by 460,000, before Foreign Correspondent took 317,000 to France ahead of the country’s upcoming election. At 9pm, Virginia Trioli hosted Q+A live from Melbourne with 224,000 tuning in to the panel of Samantha Maiden, Steph Tisdell, Gideon Rozner, Anne Ruston, and Clare O’Neil.

On SBS, the highest rating program was the third episode of Every Family Has A Secret with 204,000.
