TV Ratings April 21, 2022: Audiences hit the couch with Gogglebox

Total TV Ratings: April 14

On Seven, Home and Away lifted 29% for a total TV audience of 799,000. 

The biggest rise of the week was 10’s Gogglebox, who drew a total audience of 719,000 which was a rise of 39%. Also on 10, First Dates lifted 11% to land at an audience of 427,000.

On the ABC, Foreign Correspondent took a total of 459,000 to France ahead of the country’s upcoming election, lifting 18%. On SBS, Every Family Has A Secret rose 28%, bringing in a total of 346,000.

Nine has won the night with a primary share of 18.8% and a network share of 26.9%. Taking the crown for the multichannels was 7TWO with 3.4%.

On Nine, A Current Affair covered the GPs who say bulk-billing is sending them broke and gave 530,000 viewers Chris Uhlmann’s analysis on the leader’s debate between Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese

Thursday Night Footy saw 281,000 watch the Sharks v Sea Eagles, in what looked like it might have been the greatest comeback of all time. Ultimately, after leading 32-0 at half time, the Sharks managed to win the match 34-22. Across the main channel and 9Gem, RBT was watched by 233,000.

Seven aired its Thursday night Home and Away triple header. The first two episodes averaged 452,000 before the late episode drew a crowd of 378,000.

In Melbourne, The Front Bar had 269,000 tune in as the show spoke to President of the Richmond Football Club, Peggy O’Neal.

On 10, The Project (233,000 at 6:30pm / 353,000 at 7pm) spoke about fast fashion brand Shein and spoke to Magic Johnson before MasterChef saw Harry, Chris, Julie, and Montana battle it out for immunity from the first elimination for an audience of 490,000. 543,000 watched Gogglebox before an encore of Would I Lie To You? rounded out the night with 168,000.

The ABC’s 7:30 covered the election campaign, regional nursing homes, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine for an audience of 436,000, before Foreign Correspondent took 324,000 to Italy. Finally, Q+A was live from Gladstone, Queensland with an audience of 243,000.

The highest non-news program on SBS was World’s Most Scenic River Journeys with 146,000.
